Squapan Mountain Outfitters
« on: June 13, 2016, 10:03:00 PM »
Hello everybody, I was just wondering if anybody here has hunted with Squapan Mountain Outfitters for bear? My wife and I are considering a hunt there and would like some opinions from those that have hunted there before. Thanks.

I have not hunted with them, but The Black Widow boys hunt with them every year.

That was the main reason I was interested. Seems like they cater to bowhunters and was just curious to see if any guys here had some experience with them.

My cousin and I went on the Black Widow hunt last year. Tony and his crew are first class.

Sean B has hunted with them. He might chime in after his current hunting trip.

Tony donates an archery bear hunt every year to our live auction at the United Bowhunters of Missouri Festival. We have several members who have used him many times and they all say he runs a top-notch outfit.

It's all baited sights as far as I know. I don't know anyone who does spot and stalk in the east.

Top notch!!!!  Tony and his wife Lynn are top notch. Caters to traditional guys, he shoots a recurve himself.

I've hunted with Tony a bunch of times. Tony and Lynn run a great operation and now Tony's son Josh has his guides license. I can't say enough about them. He has comfortable lodging, great food and top notch guides. I've had an opertunaty to kill a bear each time I've huntd with him. I took this P&Y bear in 2012. It weighed just under 400 lbs.

Here's a pic of the inside of the lodge. There's a separate bunk house.

Top notch operation. Great people they do everything possible to make your trip a pleasure and to get you your bear. I have not seen their new cabins but hear they are superb.
