got my glove

Just recieved my american leathers big shot glove, the glove is nicely made except i dont like the bulk of the fingers i cant feel the string as well, is this because its a new glove and will go away? i cant feel the string as i like to.

im used to shooting the damascus glove, maybe i like a thinner glove as i used to shoot barefingers growing up i dont know, what do you guys think?

It's just what you get used to.  The Big Shot seems thin to me because I'm used to shooting a Bateman glove with inserts which is considerably heavier.  I think you will like it if you give it a chance.  The only problem I have with the big shot is after a lot of shooting, I have the leather bunch up on the ring finger stall under the nylon.

i think its to thick for my taste, i shoot better with the damascus which is thinner but thats just my 2 cents, it is a well made glove though just not for me, maybe i will keep it for a heavier bow if i get one.

Getting it broken in will make a lot of difference, but it's never going to feel like a Damascus glove.  You might like it better if you give it a fighting chance, but in the meantime it could be aggravating.  I hate breaking in new gloves.

The kangaroo leather crossover version is much better for those who like a thinner glove.  I use the Buffalo big shot crossover glove for my heavier bows and the kangaroo crossover for my lighter bows.

Don't give up on it , you'll need to get used to it .

X all of the above about the different feel. I have a Full Shot, and took the inserts out, which gave me better feel, but I know what you mean about the feel of the thickness. Like others are saying, it will break in some, and you'll get somewhat more used to the feel.

I still have my Full Shot, and will keep it; still think it's the best quality and fit out there... but liking more sensitive feel, I went with the legacy leathers kangaroo glove from Big Jim, and that's all I've been shooting for a few months now.

Was a toss up whether to try that one or the AL kangaroo though, and I'd like to try one of those.

Love my crossover kangaroo. I shoot bows in the 40-45 lb range, and I feel the string pretty well.

Give it some time, I have the Buffalo Crossover and felt the same as you at first, but once you get used to it, I think you will really like it. So will the nerves in your fingers.

I switched from a Damascus a few years ago and at first I hated the feel of the big shot. I'm glad I stuck with it. I love the feel now and I haven't worn that original glove out yet.
