Arrow for my blacktail ?
« on: June 19, 2016, 04:49:00 PM »
Hello,

I can not find the right arrow (gold tip, easton axis, CX maxima, ... ?) for my new blacktail Elite VL.

He is 64 inches and 53 pounds at 28 inches.
My draw is 29 inches and I cut my arrow at 30 inches. My string is a Ten ring Fury.

It is for making 3D, no hunting.

thanks

I shoot gold tips out of my 66" 50@28". I draw right at 28 and cut my arrows to 28". With a 50 grain insert and 125 grain head I get great flight.

Editited to add I also have a ten ring string on mine and it's an elite VL as well

Out of my 53#  @28",  60"  Blacktail VL , if I am shooting carbons,  I shoot CE heritages 28" and about 250 grains up front.

Last year bear hunting, I shot a 63# spined Sitka Spruce with 160 STOS two blade.  Got a complete pass through on a six foot black bear.  This year I have 65/70 Surewoods with 160 heads as I wanted a little more length.

Out of my 64" and 55#@28" blacktail elite (my draw length is 28") I'm shooting GT blems 400s cut to 29" with 100 gr. brass inserts and 150 gr. heads. They bareshaft slightly weak, which is what I prefer.

My blacktail is 62" 53 @27 I shoot full metal jackets 400 with a 200 grain tuffhead.for  a total of 655 grains. I could use 340's if I needed to gain a bit more head weight
