Trail Cams

Whats a decent reasonably inexpensive trail cam to buy? That is worth buying. Im not afraid to spend money for a quality product but dont need to overspend. I want something simple. I ll probably buy like 4 of them this year.

I've had a stealth cam for about 4 yrs with no problems and cost was about $80. Just bought a new Moultrie to try out this year cause a lot of buddies use them and like them

I won't take for my Browning cameras. Last year I shot at a coon in the Full dark. Missed. Over the next four days I looked for that arrow intermittently for about 8 hrs total. No luck. I pulled the card on my Browning Dark Ops camera. It took a picture of that arrow as it flew by in the darkness. I found it the next day in about 40 sec. Made me a believer!

I have had many and use them 365 days a year right now i am leaning heavily towards the
 cuddebacks $90.00 super easy to use, great mounting system ,good battery life , very nice quality pics, and most importantly a fantastic service dept. I cannot stress that enough !!!
 Try to have service done on any of the others and you will know what I mean.

I've had very good luck with Covert cameras. In fact, I have one that has gone underwater and stayed underwater for 3-4 days at the time and still working. I was shocked when I checked it the first time after the water went down when I opened it up and it was dry inside, and, still taking pics. This may be an isolated case, but I've been very pleased with them.

I have to say covert as well. I have 3 mp8's 16 hours from home. I go there once a year to hunt, that's when I check them. Last year I was shocked when all 3 were still running.
One had 8 lithium AA's and had taken over 7,000 pictures, battery level full 5 bars!
The next cam I had 8 Alkaline AA's in it. It took 5,400 pics sd card was maxed out and I had it set to not over write. Battery level one bar left.
The last one had only 4 lithium AA's, had over 5,000 pics and took one of me when I opened it up. Battery level still 4 out of 5 bars! Just unbelievable service!

I have been told by two guys who have several brand of TC's, and both are saying good things about the new Primo's Proof cam... Easy to use, great battery life, good pics and video, trigger speed is catching animals as it enters the target zone.... $99.00-$120..

I love my cuddeback E2. Its quick picking up movement, takes great pictures and videos and battery life has been good even when I've had it set to take a picture every 5 minutes 24/7 for 2 weeks at a time. If I were to buy another cam I'd look into the new cabelas model as it has some good specs for the money.

On our lease we have had up to 30+ cameras out (mid-price versions) of various makes.  Best overall for pictures and battery life were Moultrie M880's in infrared (avoid the white light versions as all you get with them is a bunch of blur).  The "motion freeze" on the IR versions is great.  Browning, made by Moultrie...same thing.  

The above link for Amazon is a buy on these via VMI Innovations.  I have found this company to delivery quickly and have the best prices.  At 4-pack pricing you're talking only $84.25 each shipped.

That seems pretty incredible.

I love my Covert MP6's, but they don't make the MP6 anymore and I don't know what model now would be comparable. I have had similar battery life experiences as Basinboy except mine are alkaline, 1000's and 1000's of pics with incredible battery life.

Lithium batteries will read full until they are ready to die and then do so quickly. And they last much longer than alkaline.

Received two Spypoint Force 12 cams as Father's Day/B-day gifts that I like so far. Small, 6 AA, integral viewer that also helps with setup. Door latches seem a bit flimsy, though...we'll see. Pic quality and trigger speed seem good. Under $200 for the pair off Amazon from Woodbury Outfitters.

I just ordered a single Covert MP8 to test here at home. If I like it Ill get more. I have a resident deer or 2 here that I will use as models.  I wont hunt them. I enjoy seeing them.

I have a stealth cam that I bought from the online bargain cave thru cabelas.  Bought it at a good price and have had good luck with it.  Easy to use as well.
