After several years of trying finally drew a permit for McAllister AAP  I dew Boggy Unit 28-30 Oct - this is my first time in and would love to meet up with few others in the unit.  Would appreciate any advice/recommendations from folks that have hunted here in the past.

Good luck I didn't draw McAlester this year. It should be a good year hunting there this year.

Congrats! I struck out this year. I've only hunted Deer Creek so I can't help you with a spot but overall wisdom from those who have hunted Mcaap for years says to find a pinch-point with fresh sign and sit there all day. Best of luck, man!

If you put in for the hunt with others, I think its four, instead of solo your odds are substantially better getting drawn. Only one of the group has to be picked and everyone goes. The planning can be done in advance. otherwise at orientation  you wait in the back to be picked by people you've maybe never meet that make room for you and you'll be hunting in the area they chose. Which of course is the area you were drawn for.
If you volunteer as a driver you will be expected to offer up vacant space for those by themselves if you have the room and you will be encouraged to stay to the last day.
