Finally got some arrows tuned for the sixty pounder
« on: July 12, 2016, 10:29:00 AM »
Easton Aftermath 340s full length with standard insert and 85 grain point. Started bare shaft tuning with a 145 grain point, too weak. Went to a 125 grain point better but still too weak. Went down to a 100 grain point and still too weak. Finally went to the 85 grain point and moved my plunger out a bit and bingo perfect bare shaft impact. Finished arrow weighs in around 435 grains which is 7.25 grains per pound which is fine by me, especially since this is my rig for 3d and deer sized critters and smaller. Now I just need some 85 grain magnus stingers and I'll be good to go.    :archer2:
Hunting is the fun part, once you kill something the work begins
