This is the bow I ordered last week. I got it from a place called Traditional Archery Sales in Florida. The owner's name is Len Busbee (hopefully I spelled that right). He seemed really nice and everything went smooth with the transaction. He sent it to me with what looks like a brand new Dacron string and new rest and plate.
It's a Shakespeare Ocala Special, 62'' and 45@28. From what I've been able to find, it looks like it was made around 1971. I believe this particular model came with a factory sight, which has been removed from this bow. The holes where it was mounted have been filled in.
Overall this is an unbelievably nice bow to be as old as it is, and looks to be in great condition. I got the brace height set right at 8'' and flung some arrows. It shot really well, but a little loud so I tied some cat whiskers on and it quieted the bow a lot. It's very comfortable in my hand and I'm already shooting it well. I'll order another string just to have a backup, but other than that I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with this bow today!!
