Hello all,
I was examining my grizzly and i found this..... My year warranty is about to expire with Bear and am wondering if I should be worried about this.  I do not leave the bow strung and I just noticed it.. I can feel it with my finger nail... It is a hunting bow so if this is a normal thing then I do not care.  Bow has never been dry fired.

I not really sure its a problem as it is over the riser section... but heck I am not an expert on bows.

I have several older bows (60s and 70s) with this issue and it has never bothered me. However if the bow is less than a year old I would at least call bear and see what they say. My experience with Bear has been nothing but superb customer service. Good luck!

I doubt it will be a problem .
My 60# limbs for my Bear Takedown are full of fine checking and a very knowledgeable archery expert told me that it's normal and not to worry about it .

Cool. This bow is an exceptional shooter and just a perfect specimen otherwise. I would hate to send it in and risk getting one I didn't get along with as much.

Pretty common on older bears. The linear glass tended to check vertically with the expansion and contraction of the wood laminations.  Most don't worry about it on older bows.  Not up to today's standards though.  I recommend talking with Bear about it.

Probably will not be an issue but if it's under warranty I would certainly take advantage of that just in case we are wrong.

JR said to keep eye on it for a bit more and not to worry about end of warranty as he is aware of situation. I'll keep you all informed.

Anyone know what causes this kind if cracking. It's just over the riser so I have a hard time believing that this part of the bow is under a super amount of stress. Humidity? Weather? Any information would be cool.

i wouldnt mess around my bear super grizzly was not even 2 years old and delaminated, but being the great folks at bear there replacing it with a new one.
