NEW HUMMINGBIRD LONGBOW
« on: December 15, 2006, 02:29:00 PM »
I just ordered a hummingbird longbow.  Now the wait begins...56lbs @28 inches. bamboo core, red elm and tiger maple limbs. my actual draw is 26".
Anyone have any ideas on Axis shafts for this bow?  500's, 400's etc.  I want to shoot a heavy arrow.  Over 550 grains.

I have a Hummingbird Dyna Stick (54lb x 28"). It shoots a 31" 55-74 Gold tip traditional with 145 gr tips and 150 gr Woodsmans very nicely.  I've weighed the arrows at 530gr with broadheads.  This combination has resulted in four pass throughs this year on whitetails.  Hopefully there be another in the morning....  :bigsmyl:   Congrats on picking a great bow.  Jeff

I have an alpha male recurve 62" 64lb at 28". I just got the bow right before thanksgiving and have already killed a deer with it. Ben is an awsome guy and does great work. You will not be disappointed.

I have a 55# Kingfisher 64" I draw to 30". It shoots an Alaskan Grizzley with 285grn Stos (160 with 125 steel insert) with real authority. It shattered the spine of a 7pt I took this year. And yes the bow is up for sale. LOL

You need to get a web-based photo site like "photobucket.com".  Upload your pictures to that.  Once done, in your reply, click on the "Full Reply Form" button at the bottom of the box.  Once it switches to the new form, click on "Image" and it will bring up a box for you to paste the URL address of the photo you want.  Kind of a pain the first time, but once you get everything set up, it gets easier.

I have a 60" Dyna-stick, 60# @ 28".  It likes Axis 340 with 250 up front and 29" long.  Great LB's....
