Hidden Hunter Blind recommendations
« on: August 24, 2016, 09:55:00 PM »
Hey all - as I age I tend to be more inclined to spend my time on the ground rather than in the trees... Looking to purchase a good blind, owned several cheapies, and I like what I hear/read about the Hidden Hunter blinds. As I can really only afford one, wondering what size you like for traditional bows - I'm leaning towards the 5x5 for mobility if that'll give me good clearance for a 60" bow?
And what camo do you prefer for primarily timbered areas(MN & WI) in the different seasons (fall & winter) - Predator Fall Gray or Deception Green?
Thanks for any advice!

I own the 6x6 in Predator Gray. I got the bigger blind so I knew I would have absolutely no clearance problems no matter what bow I was shooting. I've killed three turkeys out of it; 1 in the spring and 2 in the fall. All were killed in the woods. I think the gray is an all-around better color than the green.

I've got a 6x6 and shoot a 66" longbow from it.  Mine is Deception Green and blends well with timber in both spring and fall, but I agree with Darren that grey is a better all around color.  The 6x6 is not difficult to carry and I can't imagine the 5x5 would be much easier.  I think you'd be happier with the 6x6.
Never quit doing good.

Just a heads up, Make sure you talk to the guys at hidden hunter blinds before you order.  They are way behind schedule.  They had a hiccup in production.  I have talked to them twice since I ordered in May.

The good about it is they are making sure that the blinds quality isn't compromised which is why it been so long.

They are good blinds, and i've used mine on several hunts. I'm not sure what size I have, but being 6'4" and shooting mostly 64" longbows i've punched holes in the side with the broadheads and have to be positioned just right in there to get it done.

I've got the 6x6 in the gray and love it. Like said before, I don't think 5x5 would be that much easier to carry in.

I have one that I bought from them at the end of last bow season that I have not set up yet but I do recall them having shoot through mesh I think because they offer replacements. I still would rather shoot through a opening instead of mesh if I have a choice.

Ron LaClair's website reads that the blinds come with 3 screens. Always liked the looks of these blinds, just haven't pulled the trigger.

Update - wanted to order a Fall Gray 6 x 6 but, per other comments, when I called the Hidden Hunter Company I was informed that they are having issues getting/replacing people that can sew their blinds... They really had no idea when they would be back in production. That is unfortunate - for them and for potential customers! I am going to wait awhile before I look for an alternative...
