Bow hospital
« on: August 25, 2016, 04:59:00 PM »
I posted this over on the bowyers bench and a guy said I might get better results here so here goes. I've got a 59 kodiak that I would like to have refinished with a new leather grip and the whole works. Want it to look brand new again and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the bow hospital. Like I said over there I'm not doubting the mans skill I just would like to hear from his customers. Also any other reliable refinishers out there? I'm goin to be very particular about this bow. Thanks

Unless I have them confused, Bow Hospital is John Rafferty and he has worked on several bows for Lost Nation Archery.  Great work and reasonable.

John does an unbelievable job restoring a bow , he did my '73 K-Mag and it looks better than new .

My cousin sent them a early 70's kodiak mag.  Came back beautiful - looks like a new one!  Price was very reasonable.  It did take a few months.
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch

I sent my 59 Kodiak to him a few years ago. The tips needed repaired so I had him refinish the bow in a satin finish also. I think he did a great job and I am very happy with it.

I don't think John is the type to check email every day.

Fellers, I stand corrected. John answered my email after I posted here; seems my email (and a bunch of others) went to his spam folder.
