Feeling the love Mobile Alabama

We as a society are so quick to feel sorry for ourselves or at the very least under appreciate what we have. I've truly been impressed with the genuine sense of brother hood and comradary here on tradgang, something very rarely seen in the world today. Especially by people who are (mostly) only connected by the fang dangled inter web! With all that being said I would like to extend an invite to any and all to come hunt with me here in Mobile Alabama. I know at first it may not seem like a sportsmans paradise and true it is by no means the great Rocky Mountains but I call it home and hunting opportunities abound! I hunt the Upper Delta WMA which encompasses roughly 50,000 acres of prime river bottom here on the Mobile Delta that is BOW HUNT ONLY excluding a few weekends a year from our very liberal season. I work four days a week and off four days a week so I have a very flexible schedule. I hunt almost exclusively by boat and if you you look into the WMA boundaries you will see why. I go on day hunts and come back home to my family but I also do extended hunts and camp on the delta. I have no fancy equipment or expert skills but I have kept myself alive for thirty years and managed to bag a few critters along the way. The delta offers SUPERB hog hunting opportunity and ample opportunity to take whitetail deer, small game such as rabbit and squirrel. I am more than willing to take out experienced hunters looking for an adventure or a novice looking to get his feet wet. Women and children are more than welcome I am a family man myself. I feel blessed to have the meager means to go and experience the hunt on my own terms public land and would be honored to share that experience with anyone who would like to tag along.

That is an awesome offer! I wish that I could take you up on it. I was blessed with the opportunity to visit your lovely state for the first time this year, and I must say that I was impressed. Though, I only got to see the central and northern portions. A good friend of mine from High School lives in Alexander City, and we discussed your liberal season length and limits. I am definitely planning on making another trip down there to participate, it just won't be this year.

I really hope that this works out well for you and whoever takes you up on it! As for making life-long friends out of the deal...I have no doubt that that WILL HAPPEN!

I live in the N.E. Part of the state. Hunting the delta is on the to do list for sure. I bought a canoe last year because I live on the Coosa river, but part of me bought it because I knew I wanted to spend a week in the delta when my son gets a little older. Love the diversity our state has for sure. I hunt the Appalachian foothills, would really enjoy the change in scenery without having to leave state. I'm jealous of you guys from L.A. sometimes

I drove over the I-65 bridge yesterday morning heading to Evergreen to see the inlaws. I just love that land. I had no idea it was mostly bowhunting. I like the idea and wish some of our WMAs would adopt the concept. Guns are in the woods from start to finish here. There is such a large volume of waterways in yalls Upper delta that I dont know how anyone could make it without a GPS.

I've had a lot of people help me out in my hunting journey, from taking me hunting when I had no where to go to giving me every piece of gear I could ever need. I figure it's time to give back. I know all to well how it is to have the urge to roam and explore new places but not have money to do it. I have tons of places I'd love to go hunt but guide services and staying in hunting camps is pretty much out of the question for me and a lot of other people. Any of y'all that are wanting to go don't hesitate, I am planning on being at the brierfield shoot  coming up on Sunday if anyone wants to meet me while I'm there. Y'all are right about the delta it's a beautiful place and bowhunt only from I-65 north all the way to where the alabama and tombigbee rivers meet. In my opinion it is one of the least pressured WMA in the state. Mostly due to it's remoteness and it being boat access only in many places. Very few people want to take a  cold boat ride in the dark especially to bowhunt. But that is what makes it such a great place to me.
