I like to cap and crest my arrows so I take the writing off to make a more attractive arrow. The writing is too far down to do a reasonable cap so must be removed for a neat job.

I agree with bowhuntingrn...green Scotchbrite pad works wonders...I also spray it with brake cleaner or carb cleaner.. comes right off effortlessly. I always wondered if such harsh chemicals could somehow compromise the integrity of the shaft but I've never had any problems myself. Now I'm just lazy and either shoot wood or ignore the hideous logo on my carbons...

I switched to SOS pads and warm water at the kitchen sink. I used to use acetone and steel wool, this just works better and faster for me.

Yep, acetone and an abrasive pad.

Thanks all. I'm shooting some with the logo, but like others have said, I like to crest some and just looks better without the logo. I've done it to plenty of other shafts and never had issues like these are giving me. I'll try something more abrasive or the denatured alcohol and see if anything else works.
