Elk quest 2016
« on: September 12, 2016, 12:57:00 PM »
So here I am sitting at the Denver airport awaiting my final connection. The past months building up to this have been frought with stress, over worked and admittedly no where near the lack of preparation I should have undertaken .
Pistolpete definately sets the standard high
Woke up late this morning ..almost missed my flight.. However as I stepped off the plane at Denver and breathe the cool air I feel a stirring in my soul.. And as if an omen of fortune my buddy a few states north sends me a picture of his son-in-laws harvest
Just 2 more hours and my buddy will pick me up as we begin our ascent into the timber

Good luck and would like to see pics-even if its just scenery.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Good Luck!

Hey guys just checking in... Not enough service to upload pics
Have seen several day old sign, but nothing immediately fresh.

About an hour into our trek this morning did here some noise in the spruce thicket..we put the sneak for about 50 yards ... It was a squirrel playing the equivalent of corn hole with acorns and a stump

And FYI last night was brutally cold ... Woke up actively shaking

Yep, cold at night.  Warm during the day.
