Anyone else love and hate the thermacell? It's awsome when it works but when they don't work you just sit there pushing the button and makin a helluva racket!!! Why does nothing work when you need it most?

I've never had a problem with mine. I turn it on then wait 30 seconds or so then push the button. Never had it not fire up. Might try that.

Done that several times until I realized the little propane bottle was empty.   :knothead:

My first one croaked within a month. I returned it for one that lasted several years of hard use. My current unit is a couple years old and going strong.

Mine blew up in my face (no injury), so I quit using it.

Mine seems to not light in high humidity but that don't make sense if they work in Louisiana? Confused. I finally got mine going tonight. Right before the mosquitos got really bad. Sure wish it would've worked during the horse fly bombardment!

Thermacell was gods gift to Florida hunters.  I just wish it worked on yellow flies!!

I fire mine up at the car and it warms up on my way into the woods.  It even works on a real slow spot and stalk which is nice.

I wear rhinoskin baselayer garments and facemask. Bugs haven't but me through it yet and no fooling with gadgets. I keep the mask pulled down and paint my face.

I use mine all the time; hunting and just sitting on the front porch in the evening. Have yet to have the first problem with it and it DOES work.
