Anybody seeing any scrape's yet ?
Or have there been any bucks following the does yet ?

Not yet but about now is when the bucks are starting to bother the does. Next weekend is the time to be out.

Lots of scrapes early this year. There have been 4 big scrapes under my brothers pear trees since Oct. 1st. watched a decent buck chase a doe a little last night then come back in and make a scrape. Just wasn't quite big enough. This cold front coming in is gonna make things happen.

I have had good bucks on scrapes since mid September. Several 4-5 year old deer hitting them in daylight. It really picked up around October 4th.

I have seen tons. I can never figure them out though..
 As in hunting them effectively.
Have killed a few over scrape but I think it was just bad luck on the deers part.
Best time to hunt one would be the week after Halloween. In the am for me.

X2, same here. Started moving cams to some old main scrapes early October and just as many does as bucks hitting them checking out all the boys.

I don't use anything on those early scrapes either they usually open them up every year on there own.

Lots of sparing and little fighting on the cams right now around here, good time to carry the rattling horns with you.

Went to move my camera last week and there six within 100 yards of my stand that I have left alone so far .  That was exciting to see.   Set a camera up on the one closest to my stand.   Today has been the best weather yet for a sit , and so far nothing is moving.

I found a dandy one last week.  Bigger than a bushel basket, in a location close to where there was one last year and close to where I had a wicked wick hanging, but it got torn down over winter.

I'm taking my grandson out today, he is 6 years old, just to show him stuff like reading tracks, direction, scrapes, rubs, etc.  we will do a little stand hunting by a field, hoping he will see some deer.

But, starting Monday I will be in a stand near the scrape(s).  The trees do narrow down a bit there, not really a funnel but it is a travel corridor. I saw one decent 4x4 heading that way, in my headlights on my way home. So, I am hoping for good things.
Good luck to you, Graps.

Just found 2 new ones about 10 feet apart. From the tracks, it appears to be a small buck, but this guy is REALLY trashing the area. Each is directly under a "licking branch".

Haven't seen a scrape yet, but saw a six and an average eight following a doe where ever she went this morning. I also found an impressive thigh-sized rub on the walk out.

Found a fresh scrape in Southern Illinois last weekend.

Well, got out today. What looked so promising a week ago is not so much today.  All alfalfa fields were plowed under for reseeding next spring.

But still a good day.  I took my grandson out.
