Doing it this way you need that splice to be trimmed using a feather burner works the best but scissors will do. One of the biggest tricks to this is making sure that the feathers match up having them all go in the same direction is key. Some feathers Layl flatter some have a sharper angle it's a lot easier to accomplish this feather splice using full length.
