Kansas Hunters - Food Plot Question
«

Guys, I am on a small lease in southern Kansas and was wondering what you would think would be the best thing I could plant for food for the deer this late in the season.
The soybeans were just cut and I am thinking about planting something along the edges of the field where tree stands could be placed.
I know it is past time to plant but I was wondering if there was anything that might come up at this time and at least provide some food for the deer.

Rye works great, might be a little late though.

No with the weather like it is now you should be able to get rye up. But wheat is always a good choice.

Although it might be a bit late to plant, beets or turnips can be eaten by deer after the tops are gone.
