You may note my new avatar - it is to reflect my new eyeballs, and my new, lower Rx bifocals.  Yep, I'm still kicking around but had a bad cold after the eye surgeries, and then an attack of some kind that put me in the hospital for two or three days. They decided my BP meds needed adjusting and we have been doing that for a few two week periods of monitoring results. was still feeling dizzy and nauseous. I am now on NO BP meds and think I'm beginning to feel better. Weird after all these years. I finally got out and shot my bow on my back yard range the last two days. First time I've felt like shooting since a couple of days in-between the two eye surgeries. Sure have missed it. Didn't do too bad after that long a lay off. About half my shots were where I would want them but then the other half would be not something I would want on a live target. Hopefully I can bring it back into line before the deer season ends, if I can continue practicing most days, and keep feeling better. Still blessed, as i was able to turn 81 a couple weeks ago so not bad for an ol' duffer, I reckon.   [saywhat]

Glad your doing better......
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

You're looking great Bernie!  Glad things are moving in the right direction now.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

81 and still kicking-what more do you want-congrats on the new eyes and better health Bernie.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

It's hard to keep a good man down Bernie and you're one of the good ones.....I've been busy killing deer since I last shot with you....Broke that little fedora longbow in that you liked to shoot with a 7 point buck a few weeks ago....Next time we come to the beach I'll try and get up with you and give you a motivation speech...lol....Glad to hear you are feeling better....

Having to adjust to changes in your vision after eye surgery, congrats on hitting the target at all!  I'm sure your shooting will improve quickly now that you've started again.  You've always been an inspiration to me on this board, Bernie.
