I Got in my stand this morning...5 minutes after shooting light this dude walks up and lectures me at full volume about various things and how I ruined his hunt. I guess I disrespected him for not knowing his stand was "50 yards" away. (More like 150). I'd be mad too if someone set up that close to me. Hard to pass the blame when he didn't know I had a stand here. And I didn't know he had a stand over there.(this is a different stand then the other one I posted about)

But here's where the real drama starts. About 10 am I see a doe coming right too me! Shes moving at a good pace. About 20 yds away she abruptly turns and heads down a different path (softly grunting a few times). As she moves off I look behind her. Here a buck comes. He follows that trail right to where the doe turned (she was trying to lose him. Cat and mouse I guess). He stops, trying to decide which way the doe went. Left or right. Safety or death. He chose correctly. So instead of a 8-10 yards shot, I've got shattered dreams.

I just wanted to be like mike and have an Oklahoma non typical!!!!       :knothead:

This photo isn't for the faint of heart. If you have a pacemaker or other medical condition don't look any further.  He walked right by my cam.

15 yards. A couple steps was all I needed for him to enter my shooting lane.

Heartbreaking.

Holy smokes, what a monster! Sometimes those does are more of a curse then a blessing. I hope you get him!
When you said here he comes following the doe, I thought you referring to the guy who talked to you earlier.

Edited for clarity!!!  :p

I've got pics of 2 others that are comparable. He's a new one to me.

Oh well... I usually get one encounter with a decent buck every year. This is by far the biggest deer I've layed my eyes on. He was at least 20" wide too.made all the work worth it I guess.

Not heartbreaking, exciting...don't have to kill them to enjoy, which is probably why you use a Stickbow in the first place

It was just cool seeing something like that.

Ha, I understand. All my hunting is public land. There is drama every year of some sort.
The fact that you even got to see such a monster is a notch in your belt. Well done sir.

That's an awesome looking buck! You sure seem to have quite a honey hole up there. I would freak if just one of  those many bucks you have posted showed up around me!

Hope you get a crack at him!

Congrats on an encounter like that. It's still a good thing just to be able to see a deer like that.

Sorry for the double disappointment.  Hopefully, the big boy will come back.
