Silvertip recurve - Elevated rest setup

I've switched my Silvertip Recurves to an elevated rest this year and my accuracy has improved.

I am using a Bear weatherest mounted in the middle of the river against the shelf. I've read about some home made rests, moleskin, sealskin, Hoyt, and Bear rests here in the archives.

I was wondering if some Silvertip shooters could please post a close up shot of their elevated rest setups. I'd like to check out the different options, and I'd like to see what Dave shoots, and what Paul used too.

You might be interested to know, the Silvertip bow is designed to be shot off an elevated rest, That what Paul used. By shooting off the shelf you change the bows tiller, making it more difficult to tune, I'm not suprised your shooting better this way.

Thanks. Yes, I knew Paul used an elevated rest and vanes but never saw any close up  pictures of the setups.
I guess a picture is worth a thousand words as they say.

You can have a tip designed for shelf or rest. you just have to request which you prefer. No help here with the rest?

You are correct, however if the bow was tillered for an elevated rest and you shoot off the shelf tuneing will be difficult.

I personally don't think that shooting off the shelf or off a rest would require any difference in tillering. I was at Schafes when i changed from shelf to rest and he didn't suggest retillering. However when i changed from shooting split finger to 3 under we retillered my Bows to 0 tiller one day when i was visiting him.
   Mike i still have a couple of the Jennings rests that i got from Paul, worked real well.

Sergei rest:
The Rest is just a cheap "para rest" available through  Black Widow, northwest archery and i think 3 rivers. the rest is  about 1/4 in above the shelf and my nock point is at 1/2 in above 90  
degrees , the material over the rest is like a thin felt w/adhesive  backing . I arrived at this through experimenting to achieve good  arrow flight. I rarely use feathers any more especially for Moose  season, which is perpetual rain up here in northern ontario ! feel  free to post this and pics info, it may help some other tradganger.

I use a sattelite rest,it has a longer arm and is more forgiving holding an arrow on a deer stand.It also has a side pressure clip that is more forgiving on release.  Ben
