EW Bateman
« on: December 23, 2016, 01:26:00 PM »
I have used EW Bateman tabs for a long time.  I really like the cordovan tab with the leather loop.  I have always ordered them direct because no one seems to stock it.  I can't seem to get an answer at the 1-800 number.  Did I hear a rumor they were going out of business?  If so, who else makes a similar tab?

The website is still up and running.  I got a glove from them a few months ago, and there was no indication anything was wrong.  Maybe they're just taking a few days off?

The NFAA magazine, Archery, that just came out features an article on Earle Bateman III.  He mentions his business in the article and didn't say anything about closing it down.

I'd order from them direct if you're picky about the thickness of the cordovan in your tabs as it can naturally vary quite a bit.  You can specify the thickness that you want when ordering direct.  I measure mine with Vernier calipers...that's picky!  Good folks to deal with.

I think that is the same Earl Bateman that ran an archery shop In Pasadena Texas 40 or more years ago.He shot left handed  because of eye dominance or something. When he was helping me with arrow selection or tuning he could shoot my right handed Super Diablo, better than I could. He makes very good leather accessories.      Ken

Hope they're just on vacation.  Only started using them last year and like them more than anything else I've shot.
