I helped DDW to develop/fine tune the Huntress line along with several other female hunters.  I field tested prototype products all of last year and I can tell you that I was impressed with the results.  As far as I know, they are the only truly scent free/scent control hair gel out there.  You might try it and see if it works for you.

I gotta admit that I have really felt the effects of not being able to find a scent-free conditioner. I used to use Ivory scent-free shampoo and conditioner, but they discontinued it. I could always find a scent-killer soap, but never something to condition.

I went to the Cabelas site and found the Huntress stuff, but perverse me, I looked for a guy-type counterpart. (I avoid girly-stuff, cause I wanna be a REAL hunter!    Well...I just avoid girly stuff. That's just me.) They sold one, bundled with a shampoo. The shampoo was twice the size of the conditioner bottle. What's widdat? And I dunno if there is anywhere that you could buy just the conditioner.

I wish I could buy a 24 ounce bottle of scent-killing conditioner to go with my 24 ounce bottle of S-K body soap/shampoo. And don't name it anything froofy. I even dislike the word "shampoo". I guess I will buy the Huntress conditioner, 'cause you can get it seperately and there's 12 ounces in there.

This has been a twenty year search.

Killie, i kinda know where you're comin from. Ok, I got lotsa hair  :D  and have been lookin for a conditioner too. Well I tried the new Huntress stuff, I know, for women and all, at least thats what the bottle say. But what about us men who like to have beautiful soft flowing non-tangled hair?   :scared:
It does work. And I've been workin on a letter to DDW and ask them why they chose to discriminate against us guys with long hair.  :readit:

Ok, I spose I'm now ready to be burned at the stake by all you longhaired guy haters out there  :bigsmyl:

Hey how bout some good ole possum fat???? Just kiddin. Rob's   reply was great. Back in 1972 I had the longest hair in my graduating class at high school. Go out and buy a bar of Ivory soap wash your hair[body too] and see if you still find the need for gel.Doesn't smell and it FLOATS.

My wife heard about the Huntress stuff and loves it! It is a branch of the Dead Down Wind company and they have a whole line of products for both skin and hair for women that is scent free AND gives women the kind of TLC that their skin and hair demand. As I understand it the Huntress line is not widely available as of yet in the Wal Marts of the world or even Pro Shops but you can get it at places like Cabelaa or directly from DDW.

BP, the problem with that (and I do like Ivory) is that after washing all the oils out of your hair, (or more accurately, MY hair  :p  ) the hair is lacking the slipperiness and protection that natural oils provide. We replace that with the waxes or silicones that conditioners coat the hairs with. Otherwise, the hair sticks to itself in mats, because hair shafts are actually roughly textured. This leads it to being more apt to snarl, and to break when it is combed or brushed, because it sticks instead of sliding. Hair is meant to be lubricated.

If you never used soap, just water every day, your hair would feel great. That is the way it was designed. But we take out what is naturally provided, along with the natural smell that it imparts, and replace it with more socially acceptable (deer-acceptable) odors with the products discussed.

Who woulda thunk that this is a deer hunting forum?

About three years ago I donated 29" of hair to locks of love.  I now have about an 11" braid.  I use A hair gel called L.A. Looks. It's not scent free but it works for me.

Woah!  I get back from a week-end hunt, and there're three pages of, umm... "answers" to my thread.  Now let me think, was I supposed to ask my #8 ball, or the Q-ball for that answer?  Hmm, I can't remember...  Ferret, can you fetch me my sunglasses, please?  It's very shiny in here.

(Lol @ always89!  Is that the result of lipbalm!!?)     ;)

No surprise that it's the women who take me seriously!  I'm about as girly as a 5 o'clock shadow, but thanks go to Pinecone and Killy; I'll give Huntress a shot (yes, I'm that secure in my manhood: you shoulda seen the cashier at a shoestore when I asked if their designer mukluks came in "men's sizes"!).  As I said, the only thing that'll work on MY hair is "product".  I can forego conditioner.

Scooter, I've got two (almost three now) pony-tails ready to donate.  There's nowhere local to take them though.     :(

I "heard" that, Ray!

At least a "Lotz" of you guys can raise decent facial hair to offset the slick dome. Mine's, sparse and wiry - makes me look like a Porcupine if I try that    :jumper:   .

I use whatever is in the bathroom.  The last time it was apple something and the bees really liked it.  I'm figgern', if the bees like it, then how can the deer not like it?????   Anyway, I live next to a dairy farm, so the local air currents are rather pungent most of the time.

This thread is like blood-trailing a deer, sometimes they take you to the strangest places!  It must be the rain and nobody's been able to get out.....
