Minwax Quick Dry Polyurethane
« on: January 02, 2017, 12:29:00 PM »
Did a search and couldn't find too much on this. My question is: Does anyone dip wood shafts using this product full strength with no dilution? If so what are your thoughts? I've been using Profin and just picked up a can of the Minwax.Gonna give it a try.

I've used it full strength , but I wipe on with a pice of guaze , not thick .
Then let it dry and light rub with 000 steel wool and repeat .
I do 3 or 4 coats .
Works good and then you can dip crown from there if you want to .

Yes I do. I use it on my bamboo flyrods so I have a dip tube set up.

I've used a lot of the Minwax QDPU.  It is a good finish, but pretty thick for dipping.  I thin it 3-4 to 1 with a good mineral spirits and it makes a very tough finish.  As a wipe on finish it is great.

Graps & Ben got it right!
I use it full strength in a dip tube.  Steel wool lightly when dry and re dip or go with one coat.  Great stuff.
