Here's a poem I wrote as a model for my English 10 students. I hope you like it.

I travel paths that deer and rabbits walk
With bow and quiver full of feathered shafts,
And from my quest I know I cannot balk,
To find the softest stumps to hone my craft.
I am an archer like to those of yore
Who wrought their bows of osage or of yew,
And practiced daily to perfect their score,
So skilled that living enemies were few.
And now, I see a stump across a creek,
A worthy target for my judo tip.
I plant my feet and anchor at my cheek,
Then from my hand the flemish string it slips.
A solid thump, elation in my heart.
From bow and arrow I will never part.

Thanks! Stump shooting has got to be one of my favorite pastimes -- I figured most of you guys and gals would understand.

To read a daydream...  I really like it!  A welcome intermission from the things on my desk.

Best regards, Chase   :coffee:
