Safety belt/ harness

I'm in need of a new safety belt. Something I can wear under and over clothing. What are you using? Thanks in advance. Mike.

Forget the safety belt, they can injure and or kill you. Use a full body harness. I use seat o the pants but there are several good ones out there.

I use the hunter safety system harness and I can wear my clothes over or under it with adjustment. Fits really well and when it's over my clothes it keeps everything tight to your body so it doesn't get in the way of bow string

I use the 'Treehopper' safety belt and it is awesome. You can use (2) hands installing tree stand and its fully adjustable!

I'm getting ready to order an Arc'teryx E220 riggers harness.  Looks like the best of both worlds to me.

I use the Treehopper belt too and find it safer than anything I've used in the past since I actually use it consistently due to its ease.

I used to wear nothing when in a tree stand. Then I got smarter and bought a safety belt. It was better than nothing and it saved me from a 25 foot fall, which would have most likely killed me. I only fell 3 feet and when the belt stopped me, it slid up onto my lower rib cage and broke a rib. So there I am, hanging 25 feet up, almost dark, with a broken rib and the safety belt tight as heck pushing right on that broken rib. Was a long slow climb down and walk back to the truck.

So after that I bought a full body harness. I feel much safer and I don't even know I have it on.

I recommend a harness for sure. I never use to wear one then the first year I did my junk lone wolf tree stand broke I would've fallen 30' if it wasn't for my hunters safety harness. I also use a rope style connector yo i cAn stay connected from ground up when using my climber. It's a nice piece of mind

Do not use a safety belt. Aside from maybe breaking a rib, you will suffocate and die from hanging in one, in 10-15 minutes. Use a harness with a way to relieve the pressure around your legs every few minutes or that will cause circulation problems that can kill you as well. As stated above , using a life line will keep you safely attached from ground to stand. Lastly always let someone know exactly where you are at.

I love my hunters safety system harness! Also use a lifeline...I feel safe from the moment my feet leave the ground.

Right on, Greg.
After I fell and broke the rib, 2 other guys fell within 5 miles of my place. One had to crawl 1/4 mile to the road and was life flighted, the other was carried out and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. Made me more aware of what can happen in a split second. I then attended a bow hunter class and tree stand safety was a large part of the class. They stressed that a safety belt was a big no no. And every year there are many guys that fall from tree stands, sadly some of them did not survive..

Never wear a belt. If you fall in one, you will most likely die and never hit the ground. Wear a vest. Plenty to choose from, and they are all cheaper than a wheelchair !

I used a safety belt for 30+ years. About 10 years ago, I tried the HSS system. I just couldn't get used to it. Last year I "forced" myself to use the HSS system, and now I love it. My old safety belts are used for dragging deer out and odd jobs around the garden. The harness system might take a little time to get comfortable with it, but they do work.
