For the last 10 years I have been lucky enough to own 167 acres of hunting property in MO. It's about 1 1/2 hours SW of St Louis. It is off the grid (some solar power) and I have put a cabin, outhouse and shed on it. I enjoy it a lot. It is down in the woods off the road quite a bit. It is tough hunting but game cams show lots of game with some good deer. I just never see them during the season
I have been a pretty hardcore trad bow hunter for quite a few years (Turn 61 this month). As we know trad bow hunters just have a greater appreciation of doing it the hard way. I hunt with some good guys but no trad guys and more social hunters than hard core.
I think I would enjoy mentoring an aspiring trad shooter. Besides helping them it would help me enjoy trad bowhunting more. They would need to pitch in and help out with food plots, moving stands and all the work that takes place to make a place like this go. If they are handy that would be even better
Call me crazy but I would give it a go.
Shoot me a pm you aspiring St Louis area trad guys. It is out 44 by Cuba.
