Boot oil on a quiver hood?

Hey guys I'm wondering if any of you have put boot oil on a leather quiver hood to darken it a shade or two? I've got a gently used great northern quiver on the way and the hood is just a little lighter than I wanted. Any of you guys have experience darkening these up a shade?

I have used it on other leather items but not on a quiver. It should work on a quiver just as well. If odor might be a consideration, test it out before putting it on your quiver.

I've used Montana Pitch blend to condition and protect leather Quivers, can't remember if they darkened much, but it protects the leather.

Most treatments soften the leather, which usually isn't something you want with a quiver hood.

I have used vegatable oil and olive oil on quiver hoods and it blends in the scratches and scuffs and will make the quiver darker. You don't need much.It wont make it to soft or pliable.Just don't soak it

I use that Montana pitch blend on all my thunder horns and my back quivers. I use a blow dryer on low heat and it soaks it right in. It darkens it when you apply. It once it dries its fine.

I also use Montana Pitch Blend on all my leather. If you want to darken the leather just a little you can buy a small bottle of leather dye...as long as the finish on the hood will accept it.

Neatsfoot oil will work. I also use Obernaufs leather oil which consist of Beeswax/Propolis. Either one of these are good for your leather and they will darken.
