DAS Dalaa
« on: March 09, 2017, 12:43:00 PM »
I did a search on DAS Dalaa and see they are seldom mentioned here. Why is that?

I recently acquired one with arrows and a sight and sling and stab and stringer and case and other stuff and shot about a dozen arrows out of it on Sunday and found it to be fast and quiet and a joy to shoot. This one is 62" 55# with the 17" riser. It seems to pull a bit more that #55 at my draw length so I will have to find a new home for it (since my wife thinks that owning a few dozen stick bows is a tad too many) but had this one been 48 to 50#, I would most likely keep it.

I just find it odd they are not mentioned mush here. My search showed only one thread here since 2015 on the subject.

I have read about them a few times on here, but they were almost always in ILF threads.  I know most people I've spoke to said they preferred it as compared to ilf.

I understand why you are asking. Your are right, DAS Dalaa is not often mentioned on this site. Up until last year, among several of my trad bows, I had two 17" DAS Dalaa risers with Uukha limbs.  I loved this combination of versatility, quiet, smooth and speed.  My only reason for returning to my wood riser bows is aesthetics.

I wonder is its the all black look vs the beauty of colored woods that's part of it.

There was a guy who used to post here several years ago who thought the DAS Dalaa was the greatest bow ever created, and he posted a lot about it.  I have one of the earlier ones, which I still have after 5 years, which is more than I can say about several other bows I've had in the meantime. It is not my favorite bow. It is probably my ugliest bow. But it is reasonably fast, dependable, and accurate.  If I had to throw a bow in the back of a truck that was already filed with rolls of barbed wire, and go off on a hunt for junkyard dogs, I would take that bow.  If it disappeared on an airplane, I would say, "oh well," but I would miss that bow.

Good bow.  I've had a couple both 17" risers.  Shot well and very adjustable.

I just did a search and got threads all the way back to 2007.  Not sure what you are doing wrong.    :dunno:

My comment was about the lack of RECENT topics covering the Dalaa. (Hence me posting "My search showed only one thread here since 2015 on the subject.")

Certainly there are very old topics but I was looking for new threads but could find only one from 2016 and one in 2015 and only mine in 2017. This prompted me to ask why the lack of discussion of the DAD Dalaa. Nothing was done "wrong". Mine was a comment on the lack of recent/current threads.

No worries....have no idea why their aren't recent topics.  Maybe no one has had any questions or posted about them in a while.

My Dalaa has become my go to bow for the last few years.  Rugged and reliable - no issues.   I don't think that I shoot it any better or worse than any number of other bows that I have owned  but it works for me.  Plus I think it looks good.

I like that you can get zippers z4 limbs for it now.
