Iron mind immersion shooting school
« on: March 22, 2017, 09:44:00 AM »
I had an opportunity to attend a shooting school last weekend partnered with a hog hunt in TX and it was amazing!  Thanks to Joel Turner and Tom Clum for the help and good times.

Truthfully, I was pretty pleased with my shooting already and a bit skeptical, but I knew the ranch and hog hunting would be worth the money by itself so I went anyway. Boy, am I glad I did!  Using Joel's mental game and making a few minor tweaks to my form with Tom's help made a huge, positive difference.   They helped me engage my back muscles and get rid of a nasty little string pluck that reared its head all too often.

All of us made great strides in our shooting and had a blast. I also loved that Joel's mental approach works across all shooting disciplines.  If you get a chance, I'd recommend checking it out.

That's awesome, and I'll bet those two were some fine teachers. I know Tom, and know he can teach most guys a thing or two!

But......how did the pig hunting go?

Joel's method really works well. You just have to make sure you use it and not get lazy as the gremlin is always looking for a way in.

Bisch,
We shot more than we found. Couldn't get those boogers to bleed much. I thought about you and your string tracker. Could have come in handy.  The temps were to ugh too. Did kill a couple rattlers though.  Ate them last night.

CCH,
Very true. Need to keep working and also retune my arrows. I was way over spined once they cleaned up my form a little.

Those 2 are great people and coaches. Your absolutely right my shooting of all weapons has improved since I took the clinic last year.

I just talked to Joel and he said everyone was shooting great. I have taken his course and shot with him for the last 14 years. I might have to go down there next year. The hog hunting sounds like it is worth it alone.

I was wondering if anyone had taken his online course and how i worked out for them.

Was also wondering how the online courses worked?  That is compared to live instructions.

Live instruction will always be better for most people as you can ask questions more easily. His online course covers everything you need to know about what the actual cause of TP is and many ways to control it. What's nice about it is you can go back and watch again and again. You just have to remember that it takes hard work but if you follow what he says and not give up in a couple of days you will get in control of the demon.

Just listening to Joel speak about it a couple of times has helped me tremendously.  I too was skeptical and afraid to go messing with something that I didn't think was broken.  I was wrong.
