Leon Stewart makes a fantastic longbow.
I am getting older and had to drop down in draw weight. I was using a 53# Recurve made by Owen Jeffery since 1995.
As I spoke with Leon of my concerns, he recommended a 45# draw weight. I was hesitant and doubtful at first. But after shooting at his place for a while, I was sold!
My strict criteria for a bow was it had to have a very smooth draw, zero finger pinch, and very important for me was the bow absolutely positively must be whisper quiet.
I am pleased to report, my R/D has a very smooth draw, has absolutely no finger pinch, and is the ultimate in quietness. The grip feels natural, and fits my hand perfectly.
I cannot stress enough how pleased I am with my Stewart R/D Longbow.
If your are concerned your finish is overly flashy, just apply wax.
Wax will cut any shine. My longbow has a satin type of finish applied, so no need to do anything.

I left with a real beauty. See above pictures. You will agree.
My personal recommendation and belief, you will be very pleased with your purchase of a Leon Stewart R/D Longbow.
mec, if you knew me personally, you would know I am a curmudgeon, and a SOB. I am not happy, and bitch and complain about everything.
For me to give my blessing on something, believe it to be true.
This man makes quality Longbows.
I am happy with mine.
