I went last year for the first time in 20 years.  Took my Osage self bow, wood arrow with a stone point and shot a dog fish.  Figured that was enough so I went home.  Carp were rolling all over the place.  I a mailed in a photo to the Michigan Bow Hunters and they printed it in the news letter AND decided to add a Primitive class in bow fishing in their contest.

I would post a photo if I knew how to do that.

Couple years ago, 4th of July, shot 102 fish in just over 4 hours!  Logan, Utah.

Last summer on the Missouri River!
This year going to try for a paddlefish, up by Fort Peck!

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Alright, I've got to order one of these kits!  Thinking about going this route, anyone have insight on this?

Plan on shooting it with my 40# Samick Sage.

The PSE Kingfisher kit is hard to beat.  You can beat those bows around and the still work great.

Thank you for the recommendation!  I believe I am going to just follow Clay Hayes's DIY bow fishing kit with the can of beans and hacksaw blade.  I suppose nothing fancy will get the job done, it's a matter of going and trying.

Off the shelf , absolutely , the only way to go .
