Wenge is 'BLACK Palm' from what I understand....light yet elastic so to speak and fast recovery....anyone?

Yes...i specified it as a core in a bow I have had for over 15 years.
I'm a bamboo core fan too! But this time because of a misunderstanding when ordering so I got this beautiful bow, haha. It's my first bow without bamboo core.

Thanks to all the above discussing.
Now my question here:why the osage, has similar characteristics with bocote (the hardness, elasticity, weight and so on, I have checked them out on  www.wood-database.com ), could be a nice core material but the bocote can't?

A recurve has thin limbs.  The difference in different core wood weights are not going to show up much.  By the time you add a couple veneers in the stack, there isn't much core, anyway.  A straight longbow is a different story, with it's deep core.

How much taper in the limbs and how bulky the tips are  have more effect on the recovery of the limbs then type of core, IMHO

Also in my experience, the light colored bocote is noticably lighter in weight with less oil in it then the dark colored tight grained Bocote.  The light colored stuff would be my preference if I were to use Bocote as a core wood.

If you love your bow, I wouldn't worry about it.

The bow has two bocote laminations in each limb. I guess they aren't just veneers. I guess I stuck my two cents in where I shouldn't have. Sorry for the confusion.
Mine is just like yours!2 laminations under clear glasses.
