Can you beleave it ?
« on: May 13, 2017, 01:05:00 PM »

I'm going on the Bear Quest hunt in a few weeks and I have smacked my bow arm so hard on the wrist joint .
Was three days ago and each day it hurts worse .
I'm starting to think it might be a small fracture but it could be just the tendon .
If it's not better by Monday , I'll go to the Dr.s .

ice it a couple times a day for 15-20 min and take a combo of 2 ibprofren + 1-2 tylenol (or generic) a couple times a day. this combo help with swelling which helps it heal, and it also helps block pain. my wife took this combo after surgery last week and it worked basically as well as oxycodone without the side affects. all the nurses at the hospital recommended it. good luck!!!

That does not look like it feels very good. I hope it is just a bump and that it is better by Monday.

Have you seen the doc yet? Do you use an arm guard? Both of these seem like good ideas. Good luck with the healing process.

Take an NSAID (ibuprofen-Motrin, naproxen-Aleve) and put some ice on it. LET IT REST!! Arnica (an herbal cream) will help with swelling and bruising but if you have some soft tissue damage the best you can do is just not use it. I highly doubt it is a fracture from string slap.

And here is the best hunting advice I've ever gotten: "Don't Panic".

It wasn't from string slap , it was from sledge hammer slap .

Graps, next time you pick up a sledge hammer, don't smack yourself with it. I don't think they make an arm guard that will help with that. Good luck with the healing process.
