We were asked by a good friend a couple a months ago to build him a bow his wife and daughter could share. So we have now completed our first Duel shelf bow

Great job on that bow!  That would be good to use as an adult general bow, to introduce adults and teens to archery....

As an owner of several dual shelf bows all I can say is........well done!

I have been playing around with shooting with my hand reversed.  Thumb down instead of up.  With a dual shelf I could shoot the same bow both ways.  I may have to get one to try it.  The string comes off  away from you instead of towards you.  So your shooting lefty without shooting lefty.

I shot with a fellow quite a few years ago that had a dual shelf longbow. He could shoot it about as well on his off hand side as his normal side.  Always amazed me that he could shoot like that.

Nice job.

I've made a few of these double shelf bows in the past.  I've also made a few bows with two sets of string mocks.  I have yet to  make a dual shelf with two sets of nocks.  It would be a bow that could be shot four ways.

That's cool! I don't know for sure about eye dominance of my twins, that's why I started them with the Bear "first shot" bow, as its ambidextrous. I'd like for their next bow/s to be nicer than fiberglass sticks though..
