I won't try to argue against the OP's points.  I guess I just take some of it as the cost of doing business from behind a keyboard.  I, for one, am just happy to have the options and ease of purchasing items that we do today.  We have never before been able to get the selection of products as quickly and conveniently as we can today.

I ordered some glass from KennyM that was on sale. The price was good and the shipping was not inflated, he charged me the exact shipping cost and it was here very fast.

Thanks Kenny,

James

I've been a repeat customer of a shop in Alaska for many years. Shipping was fair, to Australia, by USPS, and we never had any problems. I tried to purchase more arrows, but they won't use anything but UPS these days - non-negotiable. UPS is a US$250+ minimum. I'll find a new arrow, even though I could get them from another supplier.

I don't mind companies charging for shipping. It's a real expense and should be borne by the buyer.

What i do not like is a "handling charge". What a load of baloney. That is what the Seller needs to accept as part of their sales cost.

If i went to a store and asked one of the people working there a couple questions which resulted in a purchase would the store charge me anything for that conversation? I think not. In fact, i would be livid and the store would never see me again.

That is no different that an online retailer who charges a "Handling Fee".

I was just shopping for a bow for my daughter. I was looking at a beginner bow and Twig Archery had a nice little combo package. The shipping was $12.95 which seemed OK though possibly a little low.

However, they were going to add a $5.95 "Handling Fee" to the order. I deleted the items in my cart and will never shop there again. I found another bow, similar deal (ultimately being a couple dollars less), but no "Handling Fee".

I hear your pain. I had a great experience from a sponsor on here. I bought several items. There was shipping on each item, so it added up. When I got my package, there was a $5. bill in it and a note that I paid more than was necessary for shipping.
Yeah, I go back there.

Thanks James! I appreciate the business!

I never charge a handling fee, that's part of the business. And only what it costs to ship.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I got caught in this a couple of years ago when I needed a trailing wheel for a bush hog. $30+$30 shipping OR at another place $60 shipped. I bought the first one since I felt they were more honest and the thing was big and heavy to ship so $30 was fair.

I still pay the shipping costs from time to time, but only on equipment that I can't readily buy in person at a shoot. I have bought from sponsors here and so far haven't been charged an unfair amount. Smaller things like strings, tabs, and points are bought at shoots, thus, avoiding all shipping costs. In a way it is sad to think that we have to "shop" freight charges the same as we do the basic product.

Just like Tax's once something has been taxed it should never ever be taxed again.
It just isn't shipping charge's but I bought things before and it was already taxed from previous owners when they bought it and then I had to pay tax when I bought it.
