speed from my Whip ????

bow     Montana Whip #36 at 29 and 62 inches long
           my draw length is 26.75

arrow  Easton Eclipse X7  cut at 29"
           RPS inserts and 125 gr. tip
           3   4" feather
           total weight 432 gr. arrow

on the 3 Rivers spine calculator everyhing is perfect and it says for speed 164 FPS

I am asking because after getting my Chono out and checking it I got a constant 140 to 142 FPS

could this be correct on my Chono is wrong
will try to check it with another chrono

I mean.....its only a 36 lb bow after all. Did you like the trajectory before you chrony'd it? Sometimes I personally think chronys are more harm then good. All that counts is if you are happy with the trajectory. A 10gpp arrow is only 360gr. You are like at 12gpp.
A person has to give up some distance and speed in going with that light of a bow.I don't think Whips have ever really been toted as speed demons, though they aren't slow by no means. Lighten the arrow to 9gr pp, and see if it's closer.
Honestly those calculators are often wrong.

At the draw length you listed you would be pulling closer to 30#'s.  30#'s with a 432 grain arrow is 14.2 gpp.  I'd say that Whip is really performing well with those numbers.

When I ordered my Whip I drew 29 with compound so ordered it with 29" draw and only recently whit my form getting good I began to fine tune decided to find my draw length and to my surprise it was 26.75
the 1914 with 100 gr tip had a left tear  (I am a lefty)
and with 125 gr.   bullet hole

I am more than happy with my Whip
yes I like the trajectory about 6" low at 20 yard and our competition are max at 27 yard  (25 meters)
I tried it with a 1814 arrow with 100 gr tip and I find that it has a bit of vibration on the shot
I prefer quiet and smooth
will keep it has it is……
 at 70 I don't want shoulder problem and I want to keep shooting to my grave

If you shoot an arrow that's 9 to 10 grains per pound. You'll have a much better trajectory.

yes I could but I tried some 1814 at 378 gr.
giving 11.4 gpp and to me had to much vibration to my liking

I don't really trust the calculator speed from 3rivers. I've tested several arrows and bows and they were all slower than what the calculator said it would be.

Your arrow is heavy and your draw is short.  The chrono numbers are correct.  Lower your arrow grains per pound to 9-10 for an improvement.

3Rivers calculator is good for ballpark spine but the fps calc is off.

Hi,. I would suggest playing with your brace height within Dan's recommended range.  My Whips are ultra quiet and no vibration within 8-10 gpp.  Getting in that range will really flatten out your trajectory-- more forgiveness and more hits.

Lower your brace to 7 1/8 and move up if you need to, an 1/8 at a time, to 7 3/8 for a 62" whip. I am using 7 1/2 on my 64" whips. Each bow will vary slightly but will have a sweet spot. Try this with your 1814 arrow.

Start at low end of recommended range and increase in small increments until you find the sweetspot-- quietest and least vibration.  I can tell you that once i dropped weoght of my arrows to @10 gpp the diff in trajectory was amazong and my 3d scores have increased.  I notice a big diff after 20 yds as the heavy arrow really tood a dive at that point.  Im pming you.
