I have a buddy that is looking for a bow for his son. The boy is 10. He's shooting a 35# sage or something now and it's just too much for him. He's looking to get into a stalker bobcat later, but right now his budget is $400. The boy likes bright colors. Who makes a great kids bow?

My son shoots a black rhino m48 and loves it. I believe st. Joe river bows makes some youth recurves and longbows well within that price range as well

Check out macbow on this site. He makes and donated several kids and youth bows to the St. Jude's auction. I bought one (he presently is making it) and based on our communications would say that he is one heck of a guy.

Being over bowed may have already hurt his form. Make sure this one is well within his ability/strength levels.
I honestly cant see spending that much on a kids bow. I love my boys but didn't spend that much until they were grown up.
A samick or greatree take down is a nice way to go. In two years you spend another 75 bucks on heavier limbs.

I dont know about the other brands but black rhino offers a trade in program. So as he groes he can tradehis old bow in as credit towards the next size up.

Have used Elk Ridge for my oldest son and youngest has a Greatree or Samick one piece that was less than $100 ($75 I think).
