I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Thanks for the pics Tim. It was cool to see a pic of Jim Rempp showing me how to chase a ring on my bow. He worked his butt off helping people learn the art of bow building, as did the rest of the instructors who were dedicated to ensuring that the students had some degree of success. Even the strings for each bow were made on the spot at no charge.
I'll be back next year, if nothing else just to visit with the wonderful people I met this year.

Here's a link to a short timelapse of Saturday....from about 6 am till 7 pm - one pic per minute.

I have pics, but I refuse to wade through the photobucket mess.

The Jamboree was fantastic!  I had a blast.  I didn't quite complete my bow, but I'm off to a great start thanks to the instructors, especially Walt Francis.  Thanks for helping me so much at the end, Walt!

Looks like you had a good turn out. I liked the time lapse. Lots of activity. It is amazing the lure of building your own bow. It brings out people you never would have expected.

If I was there I could never finish a bow. I would sitting there taking in the view all day long. Montana is such an amazing state.

Good for you guys for putting this on. I hope you get the much needed help to continue.

Nice video.  It's good to see so many people interested in self bows.  Good luck with next years event.

That time lapse was pretty cool. I'm hoping you have another get together next year . I'd really like to see Montana.

Thanks all....but especially thanks to the Oklahoma Selfbow Society members that made the trip up with a good load of osage, and shared their expertise and help in pulling this off.  Also thanks to the Traditional Bowhunters of MT, who funded the whole weekend.   This couldn't have been done without either of their support, and future efforts will also require theirs or similar commitments.   Also to the many bowyers across MT, ID, OR, and WA who made the drive to help out.

For a first effort this went well in most all aspects.   There is always 20/20 hindsight to make adjustments for future events, but this one - for a first effort - exceeded our expectations and helped light the fires for more.

I'll try and bring up more videos, and pics, when time allows me to open a new hosting account....I don't have time or desire to dive back into the photobucket mess.
