Dumpster find....string needed
«
on:

I was dumping some trash a few days ago and found a Ben Pearson Cougar 7050 leaning against the trash bin. Naturally I threw it in the truck and brought it home. Seems to be in good shape except for a small stress crack on back of upper limb. Seems to be straight, but I will need a string to be sure. Who makes B-50 Flemish strings? It seems that most string makers have gone to high performance / low stretch string material. Also what string length should I order? The bow is marked:
CB-5605
62"
XX50#28" (I think that means 48# draw weight @ 28" draw length).
I prefer to buy from a sponsor. Thanks for any help.

Talk with Allen at Tenring strings, he will make up a great B50 String for you. I have several from him for my older bows.

Good find, but be careful. Taking things from a dumpster is illegal in Georgia.

Illegal! WTF? 58" should work. Lots of good string makers in the sponsors. Chad Weaver, 10ring, 60x.

When someone mentions they need a new string I always recommend they learn to make their own, not much to it and you will have a skill that will last you a lifetime.
The only down side is all your friends will be after you to make them strings so you have to teach them to make their own to get them off your back.
I must have given away close to a dozen string boards and instructions to get my friends off my back.
Chad makes great strings by the way, top notch.
