Simmons Broadheads/glue on?

Can anyone tell me why Simmons stop selling their glue on broadheads?? I just noticed that they will no longer be selling their glue on broadheads on the Simmons website. Thanks

Braveheart archery has a bunch of them if you need to stalk up. I'm not sure why they quit honestly but I've heard that limited orders of the glue on version were the main reason.

Thanks. I decided to give the Tiger Sharks a try this year on my Woodies. They fly great as well as great penetration. I only bought three as a trial run though.

The original ferrul supply has run out. Because of that and the majority of orders are for screw in's. It's just economics unfortunately. I bought a dozen when Dave explained to me why. Great heads. They are all hand brazed so I can understand why he needs to discontinue them.

Try the Centaurs. They are a little heavier though. The ferrules on the Centaurs have much better tolerances too. It always took me some time to get the glue on Simmons to spins straight. The Centaurs are dead on!

That surprises me as the Centaurs were made by Simmons using the same ferrules I believe.

Market trends are just not in favor of glue on heads.  We have seen quite a few slip away the last few years.

For those interested do have a few Simmons glue on heads left, we bought all they had and are down to just a handful.  We still have some Tigershark 135's and Safari 165's.  All the rest are gone.

Centaur heads have always been made by me never by Simmons. Centaur heads have a cnc machined ferrule with a .025 wall thickness made from a high impact, tool grade steel. Simmons ferrules are a .015 wall thickness and are a spun ferrule. Just to clarify thanks.

No question Centaur is a better built head. I used Simmons Sharks for over 20 years and the final tuning was always annoying - but worth it since they were the best performing heads at  the time. Glad to move on.

Broadhead market is a pot of gold for some. It is HUGE money if you ever get to be one of the Thunderhead, "Muzzy moment", or "rage in the cage" heads.

Traditional heads with glue on design is a small fraction. For us we are just glad Centaur picked up the ball.
