Anybody have experience with sharkskin?
« on: July 27, 2017, 09:35:00 PM »
I have one in the freezer still raw and got no idea how to treat it.  Just use as a raw skin?

Does it tan up?

My thoughts are for a backing but....???

Only once many years ago while the shark was still wearing it, passed by and sanded the calf of my leg while sitting on an surfboard. Promptly ended my budding surfing career.

I think it'll be awfully heavy for bow backing but a back quiver or armed guard or a grip would be great

These sound like better ideas than a backing.

I received it frozen so I'm not too sure how big it is.

I never let a shark into the boat!   :scared:

I've had boots made of it.... REALLY TOUGH STUFF!
I think it would make a great arm guard.

You might give Craig (Howard Hill Archery) a call.  He uses it for bow grips some...
