blacktail bow hunter series review
« on: August 04, 2017, 06:29:00 PM »
G'day all, I am new to this site (first post) and looking at any feedback from anyone who owns or has shot a blacktail bow hunter series recurve. I have a predator recurve 50# that I have owned from new for 7 years but I am looking at trying/buying something new

Any feedback or recommendations would be great.

I was interested in the Blacktail Hunter Series too. While speaking with the staff of Blacktail, I was told that their camo bows are built with the same quality woods and cores used on their Elite & Sitka series bows. I was also told that the bows shoot just as well as the fancy offerings. I purchased a used Elite VL bow with fancy veneers instead of the camo version because the bow was just too purdy to pass up.

I don't have a hunter model but I did get one of their new Colombian take downs which I have been super impressed with... I shoot it more consistently than any other stick bow I've had todate.   I also have a legacy series shipping any day now. Alan is a fantastic person to work with, and I certianly recommend givkng them a shot.... I know I'll order more bows from them in the future.

Geoff, the Hunter series is a camo'd Sitka.  IMHO the Sitka is their superior model.  I enjoyed my 60" Sitka much more than my 62" Elite VL.  Sold both just to keep trying more bows, I may yet try them all before I die LOL.  LOL really it came down to grip for me, thats why I've ended up with a Wes Wallace again, I just like how the grip fills my hand more than a Blacktail did/ granted both my Blacktails were not custom for me, they were the standard grip.  You absolutely cannot go wrong with a Blacktail.  World class/ Bentley of bows.

Norm, had another hunter series he came out with about 20-25 years ago. kind of a no frills model but the performance was top of line.
