Aluminum and wood arrow spine?

How do u determine what aluminum and wood arrow size is needed? I understand carbon arrows but I'm new to traditional archery and having trouble figuring it out. Have a Timberghost Smoke and a Timberghost 3 pc recurve. Both r exact same specs. 49# @ 28" and I draw 26.5"@ 46#. Thanks for any help.

What string and how center shot are these bows. I would guess a 2016 at 27.5" bop with a 160 grain total weight of broadhead plus adapter. And for wood, an 11/32 60 pound shaft about the same length with possibly a 145 grain head.

I'm running a 14 stand fast flight string and they r both cut 1/8 past center. I been shooting the 190 treesharks and 180 Centaur big games on my carbons.

I agree with Pavan. But, given the bow is cut past center, you're shooting a fast flite string and heavier heads, might want to up it to a 2018 in aluminum and 60-65# in wood.

Wouldn't that make a pretty slow arrow out of that bow considering his draw length and poundage?

The heavier head will slow the arrow for sure, but the slightly heavier spined shafts shouldn't make much difference. Can get wood in the same weight, or even less, for a 5# heavier spine. Just need to ask the supplier when you order the shafts, within limits, of course). Don't think 2018s weigh a heck of a lot more than 2016s.
