Great Northern Q's
« on: August 10, 2017, 07:30:00 PM »
Ive been wanting a new longbow and had been wanting one done in osage but the more i shoot my great northern shadow recurve the more i think id rather have a bush bow or lil creep. Ive seen they have osage dymondwood but wasnt sure if they could be done in solid osage. Question 2, on the jack knife option can it be done with a locator grip and if so does the contour differ any fron the standard locator grip? Question 3, ive shot a lower draw wight lil creep but it was about 15# less than i usually shoot so hard to judge and havent shot a bush bow, how do these 2 bows compare against each other. Also i just looked at their 2017 order form and see that the ghost and super ghost are discontinued, anybody else heard anything about them being discontinued?

Call Jerry and ask him, he's real easy to talk to. I'm sure he can tell you whats in the works with Bob and their plans going forward too.

I have 3 GN bows, two critter gitter specials and a ghost, all 3 are exceptional bows.

The recurves are discontinued "for now", I think he sells way more longbows than curves and he enjoys building the longbows more.  I think the rumor is he will do some runs of curves in the future 'when he feels like it' sort of a thing.

Jack knife option on either grip straight or locator will be a little beef-ier due to the width of the connection hinge. Creep will perform well due to it's shorter length profile. Jerry says to lean toward the shorter side on his longbows
