New string for my McCullough 59er
«

I just ordered an eight strand String for my 59er at 57 inches. Because the string I had on it broke I can't take measurements off the string. Anybody out there know if I'm close?

I'd say 57 inches would be fine . How old was the string on it when it broke?

I've always ran 8 strand SBD strings on my McCullough Fiftyniners's, and over the years I've owned nine of them and wound up keeping my two favorites. No need to worry, 57" should get you right in the ballpark on brace. Every single one I owned shot the best for me at 7 5/8"......

Impossible for me to give an opinion on any strand count without knowing what material is being used. Strand diameter's vary too much.

Steve built me a string for my 59er. I'd go with 57" of whatever he recommends and get it with the mufflers and hush puppies and I am positive you will love it.
