I used Gary's four fletch by five inch feathers. I stuff a dozen aluminum 2219 arrows sqashing all the flethchings into a 2 inch PVC pipe for travel on air craft. They stayed in  the tubes for four weeks befor I pulled them out and mounted BH on them. The fletchings popped back great and I hunted for 19 days in Alaska where they got wet nearly every day. They help up well to dragging through alder and willow brush. Then stuffed back in the tube wet and sent home. I guess what I'm saying is aluminum is not always clean and can be hard stay tight due to poor cleaning and oxidation on old shafting. These fletching are done right and stay on as well as they are beatiful.mike
