Hello & Long arrow question

Hi Trad Gang,  I just joined and I think I've found my happy place.

I've been shooting Trad for about 2 years now and I"m thinking about getting my hunt on sometime very soon.  I've been shooting target arrows, but as I think about putting broadheads on the tips, I realize that I need longer shafts.

I've got a 31" draw and I'm currently shooting a Bear Takedown.  Near as I can figure I need at least a 32.5" shaft so that I don't pull the broadhead into the riser.

Where are my long limbed archers at?  What are you using?

I know that I could use the Black Eagle vintage or instinct shafts, just wondering what else might be out there.

I was thinking about getting into woodies.  Not sure if I'm ready.  Right now I'm shooting a variety of shafts, but they all come in at 32" tops.  I'm only shooting with field points, so it isn't a worry.

Started with Easton Powerflights, Easton Carbon Ones, tried some GT Trads, and some Gamegetters.  Right now I'm shooting 31.5" Easton Lightspeeds, 500 spine on my C riser with 36# limbs.

I have 400 spines that shoot nicely off the 47# limbs that I have.  But they're also only 31.5"

I shoot Carbon Express Heritage, 400 spine. I do not cut them and they measure in at 32-3/4". I fletch them up at the shop, so that is the shaft length that is shipped to the shop.

Easton Axis? I shoot the .260 spine and they are 34" uncut.

black eagle outlaw arrows come standard at 32.5"

black eagle vintage come in at 34".  Yes, 34".  IF I can help you, let me know.

That's so bizarre because the Axis and the Heritage shafts are listed by manufacturers as 32" and 31.5" respectively.  (I've been crawling manufacturers' websites and 3rivers, looking at specs)

I've even had a friend who ordered GT Trads uncut and they came in at 33", which would work - but factory still says they come at 32" so I don't want to order them for fear that they'll come in too short.  

DanielB89 - it looks like I'm pointed toward the black eagle.

Does anyone know if using outserts on something like the GT Pierce or Black Eagle X-impact adds to the overall arrow length or is it included in the factory spec'd 32"?

I have a similar draw length to you. The Black Eagle Vintage work great. Daniel will square you away. He got mine to me in a hurry.

I have close to a 31" draw and I shoot full length GT Traditionals.  They are 32.5" uncut...

For longer carbon arrows take a look at AD Trad's and or Trad Lite's,I think I remember they were 33" or 34" long before cutting.They are a tapered carbon arrow and a very forgiving arrow.

Yes they do! Well, they kind of lengthen and shorten the arrow at the same time.  They will add to the actual length of the arrow, but due to them sliding over the arrow shaft a little, they will also shorten the functioning length of it..

Here is a link to their "Hunting Arrows".  One of the main reasons I swapped to Black Eagle was them all being longer shafts.  I believe the "short" ones are still 32".  Which is very nice!

I shoot the Trad Vintage with helical fletchings.

They shoot like a dream out of my Whip.

Going to tune to some broadheads today!
