Grizzly broadhead

Been using them for few years too. They really do a job. Penetration is exceptional. I sharpen them with a 1"x30" belt sander with a series of belts and a leather strop belt.

Lone Hunter, they are making them in a double head now. You can get them as glue on or with the screw on adapter installed. I'm shooting 200 grain screw on.

Joshua, thanks I'll check them out. I am running out of STOS and I guess they aren't making them anymore. I'll see if I can get the Grizzly's in 160gr double bevel glue-on.  Mike

Seems their web-site doesn't work.

As the years have passed, I've had to reduce bow weight.  Several years ago I switched to Grizzly broadheads so I could be assured of getting maximum penetration.  They haven't let me down on hogs, moose, deer pronghorns, etc. etc.  I've shot thru everything I've shot at with them... and... they fly like field points.

That is the main reason I'm trying them this year is reduction in bow weight and I'm also going hog hunting so want as much penetration as I can get.

Just curious...cause I have Grizzly THREE BLADES also...which ones are you referring to?

They're 3 Blades are the bomb!!!

That sounds great! You know, when you see guys talk 3 blades, all they talk about is blood trail. Grizzly guys talk of complete pass through. You put a sharp head completely through animal's vitals and you wont need much of any blood trail.

I've got the single bevel grizzlies Terry but those instincts look awesome too. Might have to try some of those next year!

Just got done sharpening a few with my new stay sharp jig and some various grits of sandpaper. Couldnt get them sharp at first until I did some research and tried the method on the tuffhead website by Jim B. After stropping I tried to shave my arm and nearly cut myself!!! Normally I can't sharpen things very good at all but with this method and about 10 or 15 minutes I was able to get a polished shaving sharp head! Now come on Saturday can't wait to try these out!

What degree angle do you guys sharpen your Grizzlies at?

The Stay Sharp does a great job on Grizzly's, but I've found you have to get the angle down first.  It can be an arduous task with sandpaper.  I use a 14" Mill Bastard file first.  I just run it across the file until it gets sharp, then transfer to a large stone--shaving sharp and it'll only take a few strokes to keep them that way.

One of them did take me a lot longer to get the angle but once that was done it was polished up pretty quickly.Trenton G, I believe it is about a 25° angle but I'm not positive on that
