String tracker mounting
« on: September 26, 2017, 02:12:00 PM »
I was wondering if any of you have mounted your string tracker below the handle on your bow ?
I have always had mine above the site window but I'm wanting to use my K-Mag and I'm not comfortable with how small the top of the riser is , so I was thinking about mounting it below the handle .
Any thoughts ?

It works.  I don't use string trackers much anymore, but I always mounted them on the lower part of or below the handle.

Never heard of mounting the game tracker above the handle. The screw in lugs are always below the handle. I have an older Kodiak Hunter and made a U shaped bracket to screw the game tracker on to and then I tape the holder below the handle.

Doesn't the string hang down in front of your vision when attaching the tracker above the site window?

I mount all of mine below the handle. Fuzzy Velcro on the String Tracker, hooked Velcro on the bow. Easy on and off, never had one pulled off yet. You can add a piece of stretchy cord to hold it on, but I've not found the need to.

Looked at the add. Never seen them mounted that way before.

I mount mine below my bow hand. I made a small bracket that goes under the limb bolt of my Sarrels Blueridge takedown longbow (but it would work on just about any 3pc takedown bow) and mount it by screwing it to the bracket.

I use one for turkey...I black tape it on the lower riser.  Works great and the black tape doesn't leave a mark when I remove it

So no muss or fuss.
